May Chang

May chang is native to China and parts of south east Asia. It was unheard of in the west until the 1950s. It’s produced from the berries of the LitseaCubeba tree via a process of steam distillation and has a fruity, lemony fragrance.

This oil has the ability to boost energy levels whilst helping to lift fatigue and lethargy. It can also help to ease anxiety, mild depression and stress. It has digestive uses too, and can help relieve excess wind and indigestion.

May chang also has anti-inflammatory properties, and can help ease inflamed joints. It helps to keep the skin supple and can help to tighten the muscles under the skin, giving the appearance of more youthful skin.

Popular in Chinese Traditional Medicine, there have been clinical trials that have found it has the ability to kill off lung cancer cells.

May chang also has antiviral and antibacterial properties and can be highly effective at treating coughs, colds, chest infections and other respiratory problems.

Try may chang in our Energy + Strength Essential Elixir Oil to Vitamin B12 Vitamin B12, or cobalamin, is a water soluble vitamin that needs to be consumed on a daily basis as it isn’t stored by the body. Any excess is eliminated from the body each day in the urine. The body requires vitamin B12 for healthy nerve tissue and good memory recall, concentration and brain function.

It’s also required to help the body digest fats, carbohydrates and protein and to release energy from food. Vitamin B12 also promotes healthy and normal growth in children.

A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to neurological disorders, low energy levels and anaemia.

Vitamin B12 is found in animal products including red meat, poultry, fish, eggs and cow’s dairy. Vegetarians, and especially vegans, may struggle to get enough vitamin B12 in their diet and its recommended that those following these diets take a vitamin B12 supplement each day.
