Tea Tree

Alongside its distinctive and popular scent used in aromatherapy, tea tree oil is also used in skincare, thanks to its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a small tree native to Australia. This oil has been used as a traditional medicine by Aborigines for centuries, being inhaled to treat cough and colds or applied directly to the skin to heal wounds.

At anatomē, we love tea tree for its benefits to the immune system and antibacterial properties, which is why it features as a key ingredient in many of our Support + Protection range of essential oil blends and cleaners.

It actively inhibits bacteria and fights infection, making it a great natural oil to use for protection against illness and viruses, and ideal for our Botanical Defense Hand Sanitising Spray.

In skincare, tea tree oil helps to reduce inflammation, soothing damaged skin, blemishes, or conditions like acne. Many of our skincare products include tea tree thanks to its ability to heal, soothe, and brighten the skin whilst reducing redness.
