Selenium

Selenium is required by the body to support the normal healthy functioning of the immune system and the thyroid glands. It’s also required for fertility and reproduction and plays a role in the prevention of cell and tissue damage.

It’s a trace element which means that we don’t need much of it in our diet, but it’s just as crucial to our health as the major minerals that we require in larger amounts.

Selenium is present in foods such as meat, fish and eggs, but is also abundant in brazil nuts that make great, healthy snacks.
