The benefits of introducing a pillow spray into your bedtime routine

Having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, or finding yourself in the morning feeling like you’ve barely slept at all? Trust us – you’re not alone. In fact, in 2020, King's College London and Ipsos Mori found that almost two-thirds of the UK have been suffering from poor sleep (1)

Our Recovery + Sleep pillow spray is a carefully curated blend of twenty-two essential oils that helps relax the senses and calm the mind before bed. This combination of oils is designed to support a restorative night of sleep that leaves you feeling rejuvenated in the morning.

Sleep is a vital part of our wellbeing, allowing us to set time aside for the body and mind to heal. Sleeplessness in the night can lead to stress, anxiety and lack of focus the following day, which is why creating a restful bedtime routine is so important.

Active ingredients:

The four key ingredients, English lavender, French lavender, frankincense and Roman chamomile, are a marriage of aromatic scents containing properties and compounds thought to support relaxation and restfulness.

English + French lavender – Lavender is proven to stimulate alpha waves in the brain, helping us relax and unwind. Lavender oil is widely used to treat anxiety, depression and sleep issues due to compounds believed to stimulate GABA, a relaxing neurotransmitter required for a night of restorative sleep (2).

Roman chamomile –  Roman chamomile has been long associated with restful sleep and relaxation. Studies cited by John R Keefe et al. show a significant increase in sleep quality after taking chamomile extracts (3).

Frankincense – Frankincense is an aromatic resin often used in skincare and perfume containing terpenes, which are natural compounds shown to relax and decrease cortisol levels in the human body. Science-backed uses of Frankincense collected by M. Z. Siddiqui include anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial treatment (4).

How it works:

Combining various essential oils and botanical blends into a light misting spray helps to calm the senses through the power of aromatherapy, helping you to wind down and prepare the body for a restful sleeping experience.

Three steps to get the most out of your pillow spray:

  1. On your linens: Spray our Recovery + Sleep oil three times onto your pillow and linens and wait thirty seconds for the scent to settle to feel enveloped in calming sensations all night long.
  2. On the body: If you’re looking for a night of even deeper sleep, try lightly spritzing a few times onto sensory points, such as your wrists and behind your ears, for a stronger scent and more immersive experience.
  3. In the air: Creating an atmosphere conducive to sleep is essential in aiding healthy, restful habits. Spray the Recovery + Sleep oil into the air to fill your room with a calming aroma. Pair this with our carefully created sleep playlist on Spotify to truly make a sanctuary out of your space.
