Himalayan Lavender
Himalayan Lavender is grown and is hand-picked at an altitude of 1100 metres or higher, in the beautiful Kashmir region of India. Its scent is a unique rosy floral aroma. It has a 44% Linalyl Acetate content indicating a superior quality oil. Its overall Ester content is 50-52%, which gives this exceptionally fine oil its gentle, rounded aroma.
Originated in the Mediterranean Sea, Southern Europe, Africa and South Asian countries, the oil of this plant is widely used to treat anxiety, depression, sleep issues and skin treatments including acne and eczema. The main constituents of lavender are linalool, linalyl acetate, 1,8-cineole B-ocimene, terpinen-4-ol, and camphor.
However, the relative level of each of these constituents varies in different species. These compounds are believed to stimulate GABA, a relaxing neurotransmitter that is required for a quiet night of restorative sleep.
