Zinc
Zinc is a trace mineral that we require in small amounts each day in order to produce new cells and enzymes and for normal wound healing and blood clotting. We also require zinc for processing the macronutrients (fats, proteins and carbohydrates) in our food.
Trace minerals such as zinc are just as important as the major minerals such as calcium, we just require less of them in our diet.
Meat, shellfish, dairy products, bread and wholegrain cereals are all good natural sources of zinc.
