Hair, Skin + Nails: an in-depth look

Our newest game changing supplement is here! We have been working for over 2 years on getting the formula and ingredients just right to support healthier skin, thicker hair and stronger nails. Our team has been trialing the supplements for the past month and have seen a massive difference in their bodies. In light of this, we want to take you through some of the ingredients and what their benefits are.

Biotin

Biotin is one of the B complex vitamins that help the body convert food into energy. Biotin helps to keep your skin, hair, eyes, liver, and nervous system healthy (1). You can find biotin naturally in egg yolks, nuts, like almonds, peanuts, pecans, and walnuts, soybeans and other legumes, cauliflower, bananas, and mushrooms. Biotin helps to improve the keratin infrastructure, which helps to make your hair look more lush, helps to improve skin health, and helps to strengthen your nails. One study found that biotin supplementation in women whose hair was thinning helped to improve their hair growth and reduce shedding (2).

Gotu Kola

Gotu Kola is an adaptogenic herb that is a staple in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. It can help with fluid retention and swelling, reducing the appearance of stretch marks, and can help to minimise scarring. Gotu Kola has a positive metabolic effect on the vascular wall, which was shown in a study where participants took the adaptogen around the time of flights and discovered that it helped to minimise fluid retention (3). Gotu Kola is also a terpene rich adaptogen that helps to increase collagen production in the body, helping to prevent new stretch marks and helping to heal existing marks (4). Additionally, a 2015 study found that using Gotu Kola with wounds had a healing effect, no matter the type of wound (5).

Goji Berry

Goji berry is an adaptogenic berry that contains beta-carotene, an essential plant phytochemical that is known for its effects on the skin. Beta-carotene has been shown to improve skin health, reduce skin irritation, manage the effects of the sun, and manage the impact of aging (6). One study found that goji berries can protect against UV light damage and skin disorders (6).

Collagen

Collagen is a protein found in the body and in animals. It’s the most abundant protein in humans and is a major component of connective tissues like tendons, ligaments, muscles, and skin (7). Not only does it provide your skin with structure, it also helps to strengthen your bones. As you age, your body produces less collagen, which causes dry skin and wrinkles, but research has shown that taking collagen supplements can help to slow this process (8). In one study, women took a collagen supplement and found that they experienced less skin dryness and a significant increase in skin elasticity compared with those who did not take the supplement (8).

Marine seaweed complex

Seaweed is an antioxidant that has a number of benefits. From its ability to reduce sleep latency, to its help in protecting the skin from damage, it’s a powerhouse botanical. Compounds found in seaweed can help to prevent wrinkles, sun spots, and premature skin aging, in addition to its protective qualities (9). One study found that using brown algae on hairless mice helped to protect their skin from harmful UV rays (10).

While there are more ingredients in our new superstar supplement, these are the main ones that help make it such a potent help in maintaining glowing skin, healthy hair, and strong nails. We can’t wait for you to try it.
