How to boost your skin: an anatomē guide

Lately it seems like everyone's skin has been changing and isn't behaving as it normally does. We did some research and found a few skin experts that discussed how our skin condition can drastically change during times of stress. So don't worry if your tried-and-trusted skincare routine also isn't quite cutting it at the moment.

There are some simple things you can do today to help improve the appearance of your skin and help you unwind at the same time. Our women's health and wellbeing expert wrote down her 7 step evening skincare routine for you so that your skin can glow.

Step 1:

To begin this evening skincare routine, add a few drops of our Sleep + Recovery Oil to your pulse points on the wrists and neck. This will help you feel relaxed and encourage the body to prepare for sleep.

It contains three different types of Lavender which work as a natural sedative to increase relaxation and feelings of tranquility.

The addition of Peppermint and Frankincense helps to calm an overactive mind and can help create a more meditative mindset. With a total of 22 essential oils, it packs a powerful punch and helps the body to know that it's time for bed.

Step 2:

Once you've applied the Sleep + Recovery Oil, it's time to cleanse your face. Take a little Face Cleanser Balm ( roughly the size of a five pence piece) and warm the oils between your hands. Cup your hands over your face and take a nice, deep inhale. Then massage gently into the skin.

The balm is full of organic essential oil extracts and omega oils to dissolve all the makeup, sunscreen and pollutants that accumulate during the day and it smells amazing.

To remove, soak our Premium Double-Sided Bamboo Cloth in tepid water and rest on the skin for a few seconds before gently wiping away. The smooth side of the cloth is for daily use, whilst the rough side can be used as an effective exfoliator a couple of times a week.

Step 3:

After cleansing, spritz the face with the Revitalizing + Hydrating Facial Mist to tone and balance the natural PH of the skin. Press gently into the cheeks, chin and forehead.

With an aromatic blend of essential oils such as Camellia Leaf, Mandarin Oil, Chamomile and Lavender, it will leave the skin feeling energised and refreshed. This hydrating step will leave the skin glowing and feeling healthier than ever.

Step 4:

To care for the delicate eye area, we have our Restorative Organic Eye Serum.

Using a small amount (roughly the size of a grain of rice for both eyes),  gently warm the product between your ring fingers. Then pat into the skin around the eye area, using the bone around the socket as your guide.

The super-charged botanical formula reduces the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness.

Step 5:

Now take a few drops of the Illuminating Face Oil and warm them between your fingertips before applying over the face.

This Day + Night oil is rich in Organic Avocado and is shown to increase the amount of collagen in the skin, helping to reduce premature ageing and keep the skin feeling supple. A dry oil, it absorbs quickly and won’t leave the skin feeling greasy.

Step 6:

Finally, moisturise with the Ultra-Hydrating Face Moisturiser.

You might find the oil is enough hydration for combination/oily skin. Dry and mature skin will benefit from an additional layer of moisturiser.

Apply a pea size amount to the cheeks, forehead, nose and chin and smooth over the face.

This moisturiser is full of probiotics to balance the skin, plus Hyaluronic Acid and the wonderful Rose of Jericho leave it feeling smooth and radiant.

Step 7:

No skincare ritual is complete without a  Jade Facial Roller.

Jade is naturally cooling and calming, and massage helps encourage the natural detoxification and drainage of the lymphatic system. It boosts circulation, smoothes away fine lines and can tone and sculpt the facial muscles.

We hold a lot of tension around the jaw, the ears and the brow, so if you are feeling stressed, concentrate on relieving this area.

Using the lubrication from the oil and/or moisturiser, start by drawing the roller downwards over the neck, then move upwards and outwards across the cheeks to the jaw and back down the neck and up and out across the forehead. Use the bridge of the nose as a guide and work your way outwards from there for best results. Clean the roller with warm water and a little hand wash after each use.

Our facial muscles work hard everyday, they deserve a massage - and you will feel and see the benefit.

That's it! We hope this helps and that you enjoy it. It's something that we can all do at the end of our days to get us ready for bed and soothe us from the stresses of the day.
