Meet Judi Forsyth - our in-house Women's Health + Emotional Wellbeing expert
Our store manager, women’s health, and emotional wellbeing expert Judi is not only incredibly kind and thoughtful, but is full of wisdom and loves to share her knowledge. We love her and love to shout about how incredible she is, so this week, we continue to introduce our team with Judi. Here goes…
Judi spent her early childhood in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, before moving to South Africa for her father’s work as an engineer. She moved around a lot in those years and really values the time she was able to spend there. With the bush as her back garden, she spent a lot of time in nature, running around the hills and swimming in the sea, which made her truly value the impact and power of nature in our lives. She recounted to us a time in high school where she was standing at the mouth of the Orange River in what is now Namibia and was picking desert roses (stones that have been shaped into rose blossoms) that she still has in her house in London. The sheer power and beauty of that sight was such an impactful moment in her life and made us all a bit misty-eyed as she told us about it.
After her stint in South Africa, her family moved back to the UK where she finished school and began her career in the Beauty industry. Growing up she suffered from acne, which helped to shape her desire to work in skincare. Throughout her career, she worked for premium skincare brands that didn’t have nature at their centre. As she grew more reflective, she realised that getting back to nature and using natural ingredients was important to her and decided to leave the mainstream beauty industry to find a company that focused on wellness. And there enters anatome, where she shares her picture of wellness, her passion, and the importance of taking time for yourself in order to frame that.
We asked her a few questions to learn more about her life now:
What is your morning routine?
Up at 6am, then a fresh cup of coffee using the coffee machine I bought during lockdown. Most mornings I do some yoga or stretching to get me moving and to prepare me for the day. Then I’m into the shower, I’ve been using the Invigorating Hand + Body Wash for a while and it always kicks off my day really well. I will then check my emails for anything urgent before popping off to the train. I'm in the store by 9:15am.
What have been the most common questions/areas you have been asked to support people in during the past 12 months?
The most common areas are definitely stress, sleep + hormonal imbalance.
How do you relax?
Simple rituals really, like lighting a candle, a scented bath and no devices!
What is the last book that you read?
Daily Rituals by Mason Currey
Where in your home are you most at ease?
In my kitchen, I love the ritual of cooking from scratch.
What is your go-to meal to cook for friends?
A great roast dinner, with a Tarte Tatin to finish.
What have you learnt the most/ what will you take away from the past 12 months?
If there is anything I have learnt over the last 12 months it is to be very grateful for my relationships. When you are separated from people you love, you realise how precious they are. I am also really grateful for my anatome team, we are like a little family, and have kept each other going over a challenging year.
